📏 Length Measurement

Learn to measure and compare lengths using different units

📚 Understanding Length Measurement

What is Length? 📐
Length is how long something is from one end to the other. We measure length to compare sizes and describe how big or small objects are!
Millimeter
(mm)
Very small unit - about the thickness of a coin. Used for tiny measurements like the width of a pencil lead.
Centimeter
(cm)
Small unit - about the width of your fingernail. Perfect for measuring small objects like erasers or paper clips.
Meter
(m)
Large unit - about the length of a guitar. Great for measuring rooms, people's height, or cars.
Kilometer
(km)
Very large unit - about a 10-minute walk. Used for long distances like between cities.
Unit Relationships 🔗
10 millimeters = 1 centimeter
100 centimeters = 1 meter
1,000 meters = 1 kilometer

Remember: As units get bigger, you need fewer of them to measure the same length!
