What Are Verbs?

A verb is a word that shows action or a state of being. It’s like the part of a sentence that tells you what someone or something is doing or how they are!

For example, in "Emma runs fast," runs is the verb because it shows what Emma is doing. Verbs make sentences exciting!

Types of Verbs

Verbs come in different types, like flavors of ice cream! Here are the main ones:
